JOE WILLIAMS & DEEP WATER

BAND BIO

Joe Williams & Deep Water’s signature is their smooth, drivin’ Bluegrass style of great classic favorites coupled with many original songs. The band’s current four piece configuration has been performing together since 2010. Their first CD, “Grip On the Night”, consists of all originally written material, and their latest CD, “Requests”, has one original tune and the rest are the songs most asked for by their fans. Members are: Joe Williams, guitar & lead vocals; Connie Williams, mandolin, harmony & lead vocals; Rich Smith, banjo & vocals; and Carol Smith, upright bass. Joe is also a great song writer & has written or co-written all but one song on “Grip On the Night” and one tune on “Requests”.

As you may tell from the band member’s names, Deep Water is comprised of two married couples which makes a convenient traveling situation and easy coordination of show scheduling & rehearsals. Joe & Connie are from the Seneca Lake area and Rich & Carol are from Bethesda, OH.

They feel very privileged to have opened for such great national artists as: David Davis & the Warrior River Boys, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, The Tommy Webb Band, Nothin’ Fancy, Audie Blaylock & Redline, The Rarely Herd, and The Spinney Brothers from Nova Scotia, Canada. In 2012 they had the special honor of fronting that year’s IBMA Entertainers of the Year, The Gibson Brothers, and most recently the 2013 IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year and Grammy Award winner - The Boxcars. The schedule is continually growing, but there’s always room for more!
